I've had the Notting Hill soundtrack for like FOREVER. I popped it in last night and the first song on there is called "No Matter What" by Boyzone. I've always liked this song, but never had I really truly listened to the lyrics before last night. I am not even sure if Boyzone have other songs but this one is good. Before last night, I always thought this was just another love song. I have another view on it now.  I think it's about us standing firm in our faith. Read the lyrics below and let me know what you think.
No matter what they tell us
 No matter what they do
No matter what they teach us
 What we believe is true

No matter what they call us
 However they attack
No matter where they take us
We'll find our own way back

 I can't deny what I believe
 I can't be what I'm not
 I know our love forever
 I know, no matter what

 If only tears were laughter
 If only night was day
 If only prayers were answered
Then we would hear God say

No matter what they tell you
 No matter what they do
No matter what they teach you
 What we believe is true

And I will keep you safe and strong
 And shelter from the storm
 No matter where it's barren
 A dream is being born

 No matter who they follow
 No matter where they lead
No matter how they judge us
 I'll be everyone you need

No matter if the sun don't shine
Or if the skies are blue
No matter what the end is
 My life began with you

 I can't deny what I believe
 I can't be what I'm not
 I know this love's forever
 That's all that matters now
 No matter what

 No matter what

 No, no matter
That's all that matters to me

All of this is true to me. It doesn't matter what others may say about me, what I believe (in Jesus) is all that matters. My life began with him and I know his love for me is forever. Since our Pastor did a Mix Tape series at Lifechurch.tv  I look at songs a lot differently especially secular songs. What about you...do you hear different meanings in songs, that the average person doesn't?

Most definitely...I have never heard that song before, but I often find Christ-centered meaning in secular songs. I love that it is yet another way to praise Him!
