Month of Love Day 18

Looking at houses

I love looking at houses. Even though we are not looking to move, but at least once a month I will look up houses for sale in the neighborhoods we like. I go to OKCrealtors to see them. There are so many nice neighborhoods so I look at the houses in them and see if there is anything cool that I haven't seen before.

There is a blog that I follow called Hooked on Houses she loves houses much more than I do, but I would love them too if I got paid to blog about them. She finds some cool houses and some that are just "what were they thinking".

Anyway, my dream house is my parents old house that I lived in during HS/college. We call it the "Big" house. It was perfect...to me. It has 3 bedrooms, an office, a game room, living room, dining nook, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, laundry room, 3 acres (i think), a pool, a shop, wrap around porch and a 3 car garage. The best part is one of the bedrooms (mine) is upstairs and was around 700 square feet with a window seat and my own bathroom. Also upstairs was our craft room...this is where I would paint and my mom would keep all her crafty things. Seriously, doesn't that sound perfect. I've already pictured how I would set up the house if Casey and I could ever buy it. God knows it's one of my desires to own that house, so we will see. I could do without the pool but everything else I want.  Here's a picture of it from the county assessors site.

Casey favorite type of house are the old houses, with wood floors and big porches. There is a part of town here in Edmond that has those type of houses but they rarely come up for sale and when they do they are outrageously expensive. They are very pretty, but I could buy the same house in Guthrie for almost 1/2 the price. Anyway, we both love looking at houses and all their uniqueness.

What type of houses do you love?

I LOVE looking at houses. Sometimes I look online to daydream, for fun, for ideas! Sounds like your childhood home would be a dream home for me too.
