Flying a KITE!

Casey bought B a really pretty butterfly kite from Sam's like 4 months ago. A couple weekends ago Casey was finally able to fly it. He tried several other times but it never worked. Here are some pics of this grand adventure.

B and Daddy getting the kite ready
Run Daddy Run
It's flying!!!
Way to go DADDY!!!! Or was it Daddy???
Nope it was all TREE! It got stuck up there for like 10 minutes and kept flying.

We couldn't get it to work without the tree's help. So much for a really pretty butterfly kite from Sam's! Better luck next summer!
BTW Happy Fall!

Trey

Last week my Aunt Linda emailed me to let me know that my Great Grandma McDaniel (“Trey” is what Briley calls her) was being honored as the oldest living charter member of Edmond First Church of the Nazarene on Sunday. They are only honoring 4 people. So the task was sent out to tell the rest of the family and to make sure they didn’t say anything to her. First of all, telling everyone is not a hard thing to we like to talk, but keeping it a secret is hard. I actually think we did keep it a secret, if not Trey sure did act surprised.

My Aunt Linda had asked Casey to speak on behalf of the family and let me just tell you I think it was the first time in our marriage that he finally realized how powerful our family is. The Pastor asked him to speak for about 5-8 minutes, and he found that out just before the service started. Casey did an amazing job, he got a bit choked up at one point but he got through it. Everyone kept telling him that he did an amazing job, and he truly did. We are blessed to have him in our crazy family, he is so well respected and he deserves every praise he gets. I digress

Trey was so happy, I was sitting next to her during the service and she just started crying, I asked her if she was ok, and she said “I’m just so happy” It was sobs of just pure joy. This was before she even knew what they were doing for her. She was so happy because for the first time ever almost our entire family was in Church that day. We took up 4-5 rows of the church. There were family members there that I haven’t seen in years, it was wonderful!

Trey will be 90 this December and she has been attending the same church for 83 years! I can only hope I would live to see 83 years much less go to the same church for that long. She is a very dedicated woman of God. I love her so much!

The pictures didn’t turn out to well but here they are.

FCA & Cal & The greatest Husband

Tuesday night we were invited to attend the annual FCA auction held at The Cowboy Hall of Fame ( I actually think it is called something else now), by Mark Herrin a.k.a. Coach Herrin as I will always call him.

I am so thankful that he invited us, he has always held a spot for Casey in his heart...he really cares for him and wants to see him succeed. What a genuine man!

So you may be asking what does CAL have to do with it???? Well, I love Cal Ripkin Jr. he is my favorite athlete of ALL time. Casey bid on a framed, autographed picture of him and we WON!!!! Really we never win anything so that in itself is amazing. Casey also unbeknownst to me bid on some really cute scrapbooking things for me and we WON that too. What a great night! FCA raised so much money that night so that they can continue to bring people to know Christ and to be that INFLUENCE to all kids. I just wish that we would have had a good FCA group at my HS so just maybe I would have been INFLUENCED a lot earlier in life. Check out what FCA did for my great friend Megan.
I will be hanging Cal in my office, so that it reminds me that i really have the best husband out there. He could have bid on all kinds of things for his office but he knows how much I love Cal. I asked Casey if we could hang it above our bed....he said no! Mantle? NO! Ok fine I will take him to work!

Deep Down

*******UPDATE check out this link, I had great timing for this post 10 most obnoxious fan bases

Deep down inside of the Moore family we are SOONER fans! Sometimes I hate admitting that. I think it is because how fanatical people (my parents) can be. It's almost as if they worship the ground all SOONERS walk on....I guess that's another post in itself.

I only wish that people had that same fan fare about UCO anything. It's just not there, I know that when we were in college it was on like Donkey Kong. People were painted head to toe in blue and bronze. Super fans were out in full force, and the teams were receptive to it too. Where are those people now? It saddens me that things can change that much in just a few years. So I guess I just have to say that my dear sweet amazing husband is working his booty off to make UCO a place where people WANT to go to the games not where they are FORCED to go. As Pastor Craig says " Where there is no VISION the people parish". Casey can attest to that, there is a lack of VISION from the HEADBRONCHOS therefore, there people have parished.

I love UCO, it's where I made my life long friends, where I met the man of my dreams, where I could be the person I am and NO body cared. UCO is where my heart is and it will always be, it's just so hard when you have the other state schools going big time. We will get there, I have VISION for UCO.

These pics are truly sad, because I have nothing UCO for my dear B. It's just not available, yet again nobody cares about the little people!

(Don't worry the fish water is not that color, the sun is reflecting in it.)

OMG!!!

I have a question for my readers...

Is saying OH MY GOSH a bad thing?

What if your 2 1/2 yr old is the one saying it?

Coming out of an adults mouth doesn't sound so bad but my lil B has picked up this phrase, that her mommy, daddy, momo, papa, and pretty much every one else says. It sounds horrible coming out of the mouth of a babe....what do you all think?
Should I try to redirect the gosh part to goodness or just leave it alone.
